Sarracenias need a dormant period with cold temperatures to perform well. They also prefer high moisture levels, and in a terrarium this will cause excess condensation and mold on the glass. A tropical species of carnivorous plant may do better, however there will still be the problem of properly venting the terrarium.
Sarracenia is an acid loving plant requiring a wet, low ph soil to thrive. They need sun for most of the year, requires some shade for a couple of months in Winter. This would severely limit the variety of plants you can put in the terrarium. Plant in mixture of peat moss and perlite.
Yes absolutely they are well suited for a terrarium and it actually takes years before a plant becomes mature and blooming but for the first two years or so you can grow the sarracenia seedlings in a terrarium under lights.
Prostrate species sarracenia purpurea, psittacina and rosea will do well- erect species won't. they like intense light, high humidity and should have distilled water.
