Yes. If the fetus is large enough (usually around 8 weeks, if doing a vaginal ultrasound), the doctor should be able to let you "listen" to the fetal heartbeat on the ultrasound.

At 12 weeks no heart beat heard on ultra sound. You can enable to see a heart beat by 5 to 6 weeks by an ultra sound machine. After 22 day conception the embronic heart starts beating. The droppler instrument help you to hear the fetal heart beat. It bounces harmless sound waves off the fetal heart.

Yes, you will be able to hear and see the fetal heartbeat on the ultrasound. Your ultrasound tech hould be able to tell you when you are hearing the heartbeat and indicate on the screen where the heart is so that you can tell it from other sounds in the uterus.
