Can I get any call tone to play on my phone or do I have to get ones specific for my carrier?

Most modern cell phones can accept mp3 sound files as their ringtone files, which replace sound files installed by the carrier. These can be installed through the carrier's internet data carrier, a transfer wire, or a SD memory card. This depends on the model of the phone, not the carrier.

You can only play specific call tones on your phone available on your carrier. Some carriers in Pakistan even offer recording your call tone.

Usually you can get any call tone you want. Most phone carriers will offer the same amount and same songs to choose from. However there is always the case of certain songs only being available through certain carriers.

Ofcourse you can. If your phone has internet access ,you can click the INTERNET button on your phone and go to download section. You can download call tone there.

Unlike ring tones, call tones can only be supplied by your carrier. Most carriers should have a wide range of call tones to chose from.
