The publisher may offer some info; you'd have to call and ask. It would be helpful to find out how many copies shipped v. how many sold.

Information about top-selling books is often released in stories about the author or specifically about the book. There is no running list that tallies the sales of random books. Usually, the information regarding sales is trotted out to convince readers that they too should buy the book like the 4 million who preceded them.

It depends. Record breaking sales are often published and cited on various websites. You could request info on a specific title from the publisher.

No, you can probably find out an estimate, from newspaper reviews. Or, if you know the publisher, you could ask him to estimate.

To find out how many books have been sold, simply contact the publisher and enquire within. Alternatively, discuss the demand with your book store and estimate from their figures.

Try contacting the publisher and asking them politely. They may refuse to tell you, I don't think they have to.
