Can humans get a fungus from a turtle?

Yes, it is possible to transmit a fungus from a turtle to a human. Transmission of any type of infectious disease including fungi from an animal to a human is known as zoonosis. While turtles are mainly a vector for bacterial transmission, most commonly Salmonella, there are fungal infections which can reside in these animals.

People can catch salmonellisis from turtles. In order to avoid this after touching a turtle you must wash your hands. Never touch your eyes, nose or mouth after touching a turtle.
