Can dogs eat pickles?

Yes, however pickles are very acidic and can lead to various gastro-intestinal difficulties in canines (as with humans). Dogs are omnivorous and introducing a small amount of vegetables into their diets is often recommended. Pickles should not be considered vegetables in this context due to the aforementioned issue with their high acidic content.

I gave my american staffordshire terrier a slice or two of pickle and he got very sick to his stomach. I would be safe and just not feed a dog pickles.  add a comment

I've never seen any dog have problems with eating pickles and I've had various breeds through out my life. Certain breeds have a more delicate digestive system than other dogs do but I've never known pickles to hurt them. If they've gotten into a pickle jar or snagged someone's burger with pickles and they aren't sick, they'll be fine.

thanks the dog kept trying to eat the pickles. we didin't want to give the dog anything that would make it sick  add a comment

dogs can have pickles because there is about a little bit of vegies in it but the juice shouldn't be gave to the dog
