Can cat feces harm pregnant women?

I am newly pregnant and have a cat, I was told I would have to get rid of my cat.

It can be harmful, but you don't have to get rid of the cat. Just have someone else change the litter (or wear gloves and scrub your hands thoroughly afterwards), keep the cat indoors, don't bring in any new cats, and don't give the cat any raw or undercooked meat.

You do not have to get rid of your cat. Cat feces can contain a bacteria called Toxoplasma gondii, which is harmful to the fetus if you get infected. However, if you always keep your cat inside and are sanitary with regards to cat feces (washing your hands and keeping the litter clean), the risk is minimal.

Yes, by transmitting toxoplasmosis. The litter box should be emptied daily by someone else, and gardening in soil exposed to cat feces should be avoided.

You don't have to get rid of your cat just wear disposable gloves when you scoop or change the litter box that is what I did while I was pregnant.
