Can Bactrim cause a skin rash in children?

My child has a rash and I think it is from the Bactrim.

Bactrim has sulfa in it. Quite a few people, including myself, are allergic to that ingredient. Symptoms range from dizziness to rashes. Ask your doctor for something else.

Skin rashes are a common side effect of Bactrim, not just for children but for adults as well. It's called a "drug rash". You should tell your doctor. Meanwhile, Benadryl should help.

Young children in particular have sensitive skin. Thus, they can easily get rashes from all kinds of things. For example, they can get rashes from clothing washed in regular detergent. It is not uncommon for any skin medicine, including Bactrim, to cause a rash on a child.
