Strep throat and a diaper rash can both be caused by Streptococcus A bacteria. However, they are both not the same illness. A diaper rash caused by strep A may blister and eventually, the skin can come off which would not happen as a symptom of strep throat.

A rash confined to the baby's bottom is probably not strep throat. A strep throat rash consists of very fine red pimples, usually all over the body and worse in skin folds like armpits. Any strep infection, especially in a young child need to be treated with a course of antibiotics.

Yes, it can. Look for yellowish, fluid-filled bumps amd honey colored, crusty areas, which can be a symptom of a bacterial infection like staph or strep as this requires antibiotic treatment. If your doctor suspects strep, a throat culture will be taken to be sure. This quick test is easy and painless.

You would have to consult a doctor about it to know for sure. The doctor could tell you more about it.
