This is actually a very common anomaly and, quite often does not cause any discomfort or unusual symptoms. If, however, the sphincter at the lower end of the esophagus becomes weakened, allowing some of the stomach acids and other contents to flow back into the esophagus, pain, burning sensaton result.

In hiatal hernia, part of the stomach slips through the hiatus. If it protrudes upward far enough it puts pressure on bottom of the heart and leads to irregular heartbeat

There is a large nerve system that runs along the inside of your body that can cause many different side effects, and a hiatal hernia is connected to that internal nerve system which does affect the regulation of heartbeat.

You need to ask a professional about it, they can give you the information you need, and what treatment you may need to help fix it. But I doubt it can cause it but, go to your doctor and ask because that sounds bad. The doctor would know the answer to that question.
