A bladder infection in a dog can be caused by a wide variety of problems in a dog but is ultimately caused by a build up of bacteria in the dog's bladder. Giving the dog fresh water daily and feeding it high quality chow would reduce the amount of bacteria.

Yes. Dog foods contain chemicals and minerals that can cause crystals to form in dog's bladders. These crystals can then block the bladder, leading to a bladder infection. There are special foods on the market that are specifically suited to animals with bladder problems. These foods contain fewer of the minerals that cause the crystals.

Yes. Actually a dog's diet can cause many problems in dogs. It can cause loose stool, bladder infections and even problems with their blood sugar levels. Never feed your dog table scraps. They are not meant for dogs and can really screw with their systems. It will also cause obesity, unnecessary weight gain and the inability to loose any weight.
