Can a Dodge Durango run the defrost without the compressor?

The compressor is going out in my Dodge and I am concerned that I will not be able to run my defrost without it.

The defrost in a dodge durango will run without the compressor working. The problem you will encounter is that you will not be able to use cold air only hot. This will cause the defrost to actually fog the window instead of defrosting. Your best bet would be to fix the compressor so you have full range of temperature.

The defroster on the Durango does not need the compressor to work properly. The compressor is only needed for the air conditioner. The defroster only needs the heat from your engine and the blower motor to function correctly. You should have no concerns that your defroster will not work properly.

yes it will still defrost the window because the air condition system is what makes the dry air so it will still get rid of the water vapor
