A default judgment may be entered by a court if the answer to a complaint is filed one day late, unless a viable excuse, such as excusable neglect, is provided by the defendant, or an extension of the time to file an answer was obtained from the court prior to thye expiration of the deadline.

Not without obtaining an extension, which must be obtained prior to the date- you need to consult the court as to how long before and the procedure to file for one. One day late is as good as never. You have missed the boat. Procrastination is a bad idea in the legal venue and the court doesn't easily accept excuses.
