Yes, if you are itemizing business expenses and the costs are not reimbursed by your Company. You should have a phone just for business to easily track costs. If you don't have a business cell you will have to track business usage versus personel and only write off the % of used for business.

You may use your cell phone as a business tax write off, but you must use that phone exclusively for business. You must have proof of the bill, so keep or print off all of your invoices, showing business use. You can write off the cost of the phone itself, but you may have to depreciate it over years used.

Certainly if the cell phone is purchased and used specifically for the business operations, it can be a legitimate business expense for anyone running a business. You may also be able to deduct it as an itemized employee business expense, but it will be subject to a threshold floor.

If the phone is used only for business, you can write off the entire expense. If it is used for a mix of personal and professional, you can only deduct the percentage of costs (minutes, SIM card) related to business.
