LCD tvs provide better pictures as the technology improves. If you are hooking it up for HDTV, make sure your satellite or cable provider offers such, and that your TV is capable of receiving the HDTV signal (even via antenna). Keep in mind that some brands have worse service records than others. Check Consumer Reports or other review sites.

LCD screens in my experience, as a flat screen, work rather nicely. I have however observed that it can suffer at times from heat-not necessarily overheating, but it is enough to encourage me to allow it to cool at times in between uses. Further, the flat element doesn't often go well with the wire hookup for my gaming systems.

I'm personally happy. It is easier to watch and looks great in the living room. But I'm now looking at going towards the LED technology. It offers the highest definition possible

Yes! They have great color and definition and as a bonus they use less energy than plasma or older models.

Yes I am very happy with it. I finally got rid of that huge old TV. Now I can't watch enough TV.
