Are there many Japanese children that are available to be adopted?

I am considering international adoption and would like to learn more about it.

Japan internationally adopts very few children, those who are tend to be older, disabled, of mixed-race or otherwise hard to place, these children live in orphanages.

Japan is actually suffering a birth dearth, with few children being born. South Korea has had more children available for adoption from their Catholic community. You are more likely to find partially Japanese mixed-race children in the United States. Cambodia, Thailand, Samoa and several other Asian nations have more children available for adoption.

Japanese children aren't nearly as prominent as Chinese children (in particular, Chinese girls). I would highly recommend looking into it though.
