For Windows 7 to access your hidden folders bring up Windows Explorer and select tools-folder options from the drop down menu. Activate the view tab and in the list of options make sure that "show hidden files, folders and drives" is selected. Expect minor variance with other windows versions

Yes, there are several hidden folders scattered arround the Windows folder and the Hard Drive. If you want to see them, simply select the Tools menu on a folder and go to Folder Options. Then, go to See and select Show all hidden folders and files.
