Are there charities that give violins to children?

There does not seem to be a specific charity in the US that gives violins to children, unlike the amazing organisations "Soweto Strings" in South Africa and "El Sistema" in Venezuela. But some charities like the Rotary Club has a history of helping with things like this.

Charities the donate violins to children do exist. There are several places to ask. First, check with your local symphony and classical music associations. When I was studied the violin my instrument was donated from my local fine art association.

The VH1 Save the Music foundation accepts musical instruments as well as cash donations to encourage students to express themselves through music.
