Are there certain plants that will keep cats out of my garden?

My neighbors cats keep digging up my plants. I would like to plant something that will hinder them from doing so but do not want to harm them.

That is very kind of you to be caring towards the cats! I looked up some ideas for you! You can buy repellent pellets from garden stores that smell like citrus fruits, cats do not like that smell. You could also try: sprinklers, garlic, lemon peels, geraniums, marigolds, and petunias.

I can't think of any plants that cats will avoid, but I do know it helps to distract them with plants they like. Cats will usually choose grass over any other plant, so make sure that is nearby. And you can always plant catnip to distract them!

Cats are attracted to most plants if they are outdoor cats, you can try cactus or prickly plants but it would be better to use animal urine to scare them.

Generally cats aren't all that deterred by plants. The best thing to do would be to get a little garden fence to put around your garden to keep the cats out.
