A traditional and Texas original dessert is the pecan pie. So are pecan pralines and pecan ice cream. Peach cobbler is another common Texas dessert. Pecan turtles are another dessert or snack that is more common in Texas than elsewhere in the South. You could also make Texas Citrus Angel Food Cake.

When I went to Texas I remember having the most famous Texas desert of them all, pollywank. It was fried ice cream with chocolate sauce and caramel. MMMM it was good!

While there are no purely uniquely traditional Texan deserts. Depending on the circumstance and situation in which you need it, there are options. A very popular non-sweet desert/snack in texas is Frito Pie. A Very popular sweet dish in Texas is Pecan Pie.

The United States is a country unique in it's culture, especially when it comes to food. Not many dishes are correlated with the U.S., but one dessert I have enjoyed in Texas are Mango Chimichangas. Very delicious!
