Are there any counseling resources for a parent who begins dating after the death of a loved one?

I would like to begin dating but think I need some counseling first.

Yes there is always counseling for everything. I suggest you talking to a friend before paying money to go to a counselor.

Parents Without partners is an excellent resource and has chapters all over the country. They counsel surviving spouses after death as well as after divorce and abandonment. The Salvation Army can also refer you to free counseling services after the death of a loved one, whether spouse or a close family member.
