Cougars range over much of the American West and Mexico, and can certainly be found in southeast Texas. They especially like rocky areas with a good amount of small game.
There are not many cougars in the southeast but there have been confirmed sitings of cougars there. It seems that cougars are moving territories over the past few years and are being spotted more frequently in different areas.
