There are hundreds of car repair manual out there. There are ones for beginners as well as for those with a fair amount of knowledge about automobiles already. So there should be one out there that will be well suited for your certain level. Just be sure not to get in over your head.

There are tons of do-it-yourself reference guides, which can be picked up online or at your local automotive store. There are two major manufacturers of the books, Chilton and Haynes, both of which are good references. Chilton tends to be a little more clear and have more pictures to help with reassembly. Not much skill is required for basic maintenance.
