Rudd air conditioners are good and reliable when compared to other brands like Frigidaire, Carrier etc. One of my neighbour is having a brand of Rudd and using it for more than 7 years without any complaint.
Rudd and Rheem are reputable brands. The federal government regulates efficiency and the expected reults of equipment. Sizing and installation have more bearing on the successful installation and the results.
Rudd air conditioners are good systems. But the answer to the question is, is it right for your individual situation. Always make sure that the unit tha you buy is the right size for cooling your house. Take into cosideration the square footage of your house or building before purchasing the unit.
From personal experience Rudd air conditioners are not worth the time or money. Ive owned two brand new Rudd units which were installed in my rental properties. These units are poorly made and not designed for long term usage. The parts used in construction have failed soon after one season.
As an AC installer I install and repair most brands of AC units. I have not really found that one lasts longer than another. They are all about equal. Rudd, Trane, Arcoaire, doesn't matter as long as it is the right size for your home.
