Are peanuts okay to feed to hamsters?

My brother gave my hamster peanuts last night, I am so worried about him.

Hamsters love peanuts! They will stuff their faces and hoarde peanuts if allowed! Give them the unsalted kind and only for treats or as an enticement to learn tricks.

Yes, unsalted peanuts are okay to feed to your hamster once or twice a week. They are too fattening to eat more often than that.

Yes, unsalted peanuts are fine as a treat along with other seeds and nuts (like sunflower, millet), but don't feed him too many. The bulk of his diet should come from a fortified feed like Oxbow healthy handfuls.
