If your rigid contact lenses are free from blemishes or damage, and you can still see well out of them, and they are comfortable, then they are most likely still ok. However, you might want to try a newer technology such as soft hydrogel disposable contact lenses, as they have many benefits, such as enhanced comfort and convenience.

The optometrist I work for says that rgp can last forever, as long as you don't step on them or crack them. If you get protien build on them, have your doctor polish them and they will be just fine.

If the lenses are that hard, you may want to consult your doctor. Are they still comfortable to wear? If not, it is best to take them out, put on glasses, and head over to your optometrist to check with them. When it doubt, it's best to take them out.

Your contact lenses will be o.k. if they do not cause pain or mist up and you are wearing them for the approved length of time as recommended.

RGP lenses are still okay as long as they are not chipped or broken. They can last for years. If you are still unsure, consult your optometrist.

I work for an OD and know that they last for a very long time, just keep them clean and have your optician polish them once in a while
