Lenovo laptops used to be IBM laptops before being bought over be Lenovo. Yes they are worth the investment, especially for business users it comes with many of the features you would expect from a good sturdy IBM laptop. As for using it as a second computer for travel, maybe you should look into cheaper models by Dell or Acer.

Absolutely, Lenovo ThinkPads are one of the best laptops and net-books one can have. They have detailed user guides, and a nice track point. They are properly designed, manufactured and assembled with Super Service, support and documentation.

Lenovo's are good laptops, and they have great customer support. But if you don't really care about that, I tend to lean towards other brands. Lenovo's are great, but I've found that on the pricey side, and you can usually get the same specifications in laptop elsewhere, for less money.

Lenovo has taken over IBMs Thinkpad series. Those laptops are known for their great keyboards and Lenovo kept it that way. I have used a couple of them and those are good machines, as are comparable Dell systems and those of other manufacturers. Think about buying extra service and warranty.

As with all laptops, it all comes down to the particular model you are interested in buying. Lenovo, however, do offer good prices.
