This is mostly a matter of preference for treatment--holistic vs. Western. I haven't heard of any studies that conclusively said chiropractic visits cause joint deterioration or other problems. There are, in my opinion, two ways a chiropractor can be bad for you: 1)you have an issue that needs medical intervention and 2)you have a chiropractor that is too rough.
Chiropractic adjustment is one of the best methods of preventative care for disease available. When your nervous system isn't pinched by a compressed spine, your whole body functions better.
Unless you have an incompetent chiropractor, the visits are probably not going to be bad for you. In fact, they may be helpful, although they may not be as helpful to you as the chiropractor will claim. Getting those vertebrae in line feels good but it may not be the panacea chiropractors would like it to be.
I don't believe they are bad for you healthwise, but maybe for the wallet I went to a chiropractor because of back pain. Next thing I knew I had to go there for a month 3 times a week cost 20.00 out of pocket per day. Go if you really need it
Chiropractic visits reduced my pain after a car accident.
They also restored movement to my neck after I woke up with a frozen neck.
They are good for you.
