Some Entomologists joke that bugs in flour provide extra protein. As a general rule such flour should be sifted with a fine sifter before use or discarded entirely. Bugs are a great commercial pest of stored flour and generally considered a contaminent when found in the home.

The bugs in flour are not harmful but aggrevating. They lay eggs that hatch in the food. They will spread quickly to other foods. Store food in airtight containers.

Weebles love to get in flour. Normally they are not harmful, so if you ever ingest some without knowing you will not die or anything. I guess you can consider them extra protein in your diet.
